Complaints and reports

If a business, a review or a job post on Moathaq is not what it claims to be, tell us. Every report is read by a person.

How to file a complaint

Every business profile, review and job post has a report link. You can also use the report form directly. Tell us which item you mean, pick the reason (fake listing, scam, fake review, job fees or something else) and describe what happened. Add the business name, dates and any message or receipt you have. You do not need an account.

What happens next

  1. We aim to acknowledge your report within one working day.
  2. A person reviews it within two working days and may contact the business for its side.
  3. We decide within seven days of the report. A confirmed fake licence leads to immediate suspension of the listing. A confirmed fake review is removed. A job post that asks candidates for money is removed and the employer is suspended.
  4. We tell you the outcome. We do not publish the name of the person who complained.

Unresolved complaints against a business lower its ranking, and a business that repeatedly breaks the rules is removed.

If the business is to blame, not the listing

Moathaq lists businesses and does not process payments for their services, so we cannot refund you or settle a dispute over the quality of work. We can add your review, press the business to respond and act on any licence breach.

For a dispute over a purchase or a service, you can file a consumer complaint with the consumer protection section of the emirate's economic department, for example the Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai. For unpaid wages or job fraud, contact the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE). For a crime such as fraud or a forged document, report it to the police of the emirate where it happened (Dubai Police in Dubai). Keep your receipts, messages and the licence number.
