What moves the price
- Government versus centre fee. The government part is the same everywhere. Only the centre fee varies.
- Complexity. A first-time application takes longer than a renewal, and a rejected file takes longer still.
- Express handling. Same-day processing adds a premium set by the authority and by the centre.
- Location. Centres in central areas and malls charge more than those in industrial areas.
How to read these prices
These are indicative ranges compiled by the Moathaq editorial team from published rate cards, public tariffs and typical market prices. They are not government tariffs and they are not quotes. Last reviewed: October 2026. Your quote will differ, so always ask for a written quote before work starts.
These prices are centre fees. Every transaction also carries a government fee that is identical at every centre, so ask for the two amounts separately. A cheap centre fee is no bargain if the file is rejected and you return a second time. The centre fees are typical Dubai prices; in the other emirates they are often similar or somewhat lower. Amer centres handle Dubai residence visas; in the other emirates, residence transactions go through ICP channels.

How to get a fair quote
Ask for the total in two lines, government fee and centre fee, with the transaction number on the receipt. Ask what happens if the transaction is rejected and who pays for the correction.
Check the centre's trade licence and, for Tasheel or Amer services, its authorisation, as our guide to verifying a trade licence describes.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a typing centre charge in the UAE?
Typically AED 30 to 250 per transaction on top of the government fee, depending on the service. Always ask for the two amounts separately.
Can I skip the centre and use the app?
For many renewals, yes. MOHRE, GDRFA Dubai and ICP each have apps. A centre helps with first applications and anything involving originals.
