The rule behind every cleaning booking in the UAE is that a worker may work only for the employer who sponsors their visa.

Who can legally clean for you

  • A licensed cleaning company employs its cleaners on MOHRE work permits and carries insurance.
  • A Tadbeer centre, licensed by MOHRE, supplies domestic workers by the hour, day or month.
  • A freelance cleaner arriving by bus for cash is working outside those rules, and the penalties fall on the person who hires.

Ask who employs the cleaners and whether the same people come each visit, because a regular team learns your home and damages less than a changing crew.

What it costs in 2026

Licensed companies typically charge AED 35 to 50 per cleaner per hour, with a minimum booking of three to four hours.

  • Regular clean, one-bedroom flat: AED 150 to 250
  • Deep clean: AED 350 to 700

A rate far below AED 30 an hour all-in is below what a licensed provider can pay for a worker's salary, visa and insurance. These are typical Dubai prices; in the other emirates prices are often similar or somewhat lower.

Before you pay

Check the company's trade licence for a cleaning activity and ask what insurance covers breakage.

Check the badge first, then read the reviews and the response rate. Ask for a written quote that names the company on the licence, and pay only to an account in that company's name. See typical prices in our price guide.

Frequently asked questions

Is it illegal to hire a freelance cleaner in the UAE?

A worker may work only for the employer or licensed provider that sponsors them. Hiring a cleaner who is not employed by a licensed company, a Tadbeer centre or yourself breaches the labour and domestic worker rules, and penalties fall on the person who hires.

How much do cleaning services cost in the UAE?

Typically AED 35 to 50 per cleaner per hour in 2026. A regular one-bedroom clean costs AED 150 to 250, a deep clean AED 350 to 700, a three-bedroom villa deep clean AED 800 to 2,000 and a move-out clean AED 400 to 1,200. VAT of 5 percent applies if registered. These are typical Dubai prices; in the other emirates prices are often similar or somewhat lower.

What are the red flags with cleaners?

Be cautious of WhatsApp-only contact, no company name, cash-only payment, an unusually low hourly rate and a request to hold your keys or Emirates ID. A reputable company never needs your ID and can show its licence and insurance. Ask for the cleaner's own ID on arrival as well.

What if something is broken or missing?

Tell the company in writing within 24 hours with photos and the booking reference. A licensed company should answer in two to three working days. For suspected theft call the police (in Dubai, Dubai Police on 901) and give the company's details. Check your home contents insurance as well.
