What moves the price

  • Time of day. Evenings after 10 pm, Fridays and public holidays carry AED 50 to 150 extra.
  • Access. Work behind tiles, inside ducts or in shafts takes longer and may need tile repair.
  • Parts. Branded fittings cost more and last longer. Ask which brand is quoted.
  • Building rules. Some towers require an approved plumber or an NOC for anything beyond a tap.
  • Old pipework. Old galvanised or corroded lines turn a small job into a larger one.

How to read these prices

These are indicative ranges compiled by the Moathaq editorial team from published rate cards, public tariffs and typical market prices. They are not government tariffs and they are not quotes. Last reviewed: October 2026. Your quote will differ, so always ask for a written quote before work starts.

These are household prices for a licensed company, labour and standard parts included, excluding VAT of 5 percent. These are typical Dubai prices; in the other emirates prices are often similar or somewhat lower. The tenancy contract decides who pays: many contracts, in Dubai and elsewhere, put small repairs on the tenant and concealed pipework on the landlord.

Our guide on the plumber call-out shows what happens on a visit and who pays for what.

How to get a fair quote

Ask whether the call-out fee is credited against the repair, and get the answer in a message. Agree the price in writing before the plumber opens a wall or removes a fitting.

Ask what warranty comes with the work. Thirty days on labour is common at reputable companies.

Red flags

A call-out of AED 50 to 80 is usually a way into your home, with the money made on parts. Do not allow a general plumber to alter gas pipework.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a plumber charge in the UAE?

In Dubai a call-out typically costs AED 150 to 250 in 2026, and often similar or somewhat less in the other emirates. Common repairs such as a blocked sink or a tap replacement run AED 100 to 350.

Check the tenancy contract. Minor repairs often fall on the tenant, concealed or structural pipework on the landlord. Tell the landlord in writing.
